On June 25, Corrode will be released as a new map for the 5-vs-5 shooter Valorant. The medieval-themed map comes directly into the competitive rotation and brings a breath of fresh air into the new Season 2025 // Act IV.

This is how the Valorant map “Corrode” is structured

Corrode is set in a French castle village that has been converted into a radianite salt mine. In the first trailer, the map presents itself darkly, embedded in a hostile desert landscape on the planet Omega Earth.

At first glance, Corrode looks very winding and visually reminds me a bit of Bind from Alpha Earth. This not only fits the castle setting, but also the development of the tactical depth of the last few months. Therefore, the map comes with two spike sites, a 3-lane layout, and multi-level defensive positions. Corrode could therefore become a defender map.

But don’t worry: if you mess up your first rounds, you’ll lose 50 percent fewer rank points in the first two weeks. However, the points in the event of victory will be credited in full. On top of that, there is a Swiftplay search with Corrode only until June 30.

These skins new skins come with Corrode

In addition to the new map, Phaseguard is a new skin series for Vandal, Outlaw, Bulldog and Ghost. Visually, the skin hardly stands out at first, but there are at least special animations and three different grip types.

When exactly Valorant will be switched to Unreal Engine 5 is still unknown. In an official video, the team explains that it should happen in July. In addition, the long-awaited replay feature will be released in September, with which recently played competitive games can be analyzed and evaluated.
